Participating and Observing Countries

Participating countries

The countries below are the CBF Participating Countries. The CBF Endowment has funds earmarked for these countries and we are working with each of them to establish a National Conservation Trust Fund (NCTF) that meets the CBF Eligibility Approval Procedures. The NCTFs then become Partner Funds of the CBF, and (i) sign a Partnership Agreement with the CBF for an annual payment from CBF Endowment (based on their country sub-account) and (ii) nominate a Director to the Board of the CBF. At present, three NCTFs have signed CBF Partnership Agreements with the CBF and have nominated Directors to the Board. To promote transparency and in anticipation of their role, the other Participating Countries are invited to observe regular CBF Board meetings.

Observer Countries

In addition to the above Participating Countries, there are also additional countries and territories that are Observers to the CBF Board.  Each Observer Country has an observing representative on the Board that serve as the national focal point on CBF matters. The CBF is currently looking for funding that can be earmarked for the Observer Countries. Once funding is identified, an Country would become a Participating Country.
