{"id":32344,"date":"2022-11-17T00:07:57","date_gmt":"2022-11-17T04:07:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cbf-trubudget.com\/cbfs-eba-facility-opens-its-fourth-call-for-proposals\/"},"modified":"2022-11-17T00:07:57","modified_gmt":"2022-11-17T04:07:57","slug":"cbfs-eba-facility-opens-its-fourth-call-for-proposals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caribbeanbiodiversityfund.org\/es\/cbfs-eba-facility-opens-its-fourth-call-for-proposals\/","title":{"rendered":"El Mecanismo de Asistencia Basada en la Eficiencia (EbA) del CBF abre su cuarta convocatoria de propuestas."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>17 November 2022\u2014<\/strong>The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF), through its Ecosystem-based Adaptation Facility (EbA Facility), is seeking applications for projects that utilize Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) approaches to assist in climate change adaptation efforts within the marine and coastal zones of the insular Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>The EbA Facility is requesting project proposals with a focus on EbA actions that help people adapt to adverse effects of climate change, reduce disaster risk, and build resilient ecosystems and economies.<\/p>\n<p>The Fourth Call for Proposals (4CfP), was opened on Thursday 17th November, 2022 at the UNFCCC COP 27 side event \u201cEcosystem-based Adaptation in vulnerable rural communities experiences from Haiti, Cuba and the DR\u201d in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, at 15:00-16:30 local time (GMT+2). Concept Notes\u00a0 can be submitted until Tuesday 24th January, 2023, at 23:59 UTC-5, when the call for proposals will be closed.<\/p>\n<p>The EbA Facility will distribute grants from USD 250,000 up to USD 2 million, directly to local, national, regional and international institutions, including civil society organizations, government agencies, universities & research organizations, community-based organizations, and United Nations agencies in eligible countries and territories. Eligible Caribbean countries and territories are Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Proposals for regional projects are encouraged and can involve Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago.<\/p>\n<p>While the CBF EbA Facility has maintained the open call for proposals approach, it has added two additional features to this 4th CfP. We have updated the guidance documents in the call adding references to EbA resources from FEBA, GIZ and the IUCN. There will also be a virtual workshop sharing details on the 4th CfP and answering questions on preparation of Concept Notes on 24th November 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The EbA Facility resources are composed of a 45 million EUR contribution from the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety through KfW.<\/p>\n<p>To date, a total of 22 million USD was committed to the implementation of the 19 projects under the first two calls for proposals, with another 14 million USD expected to be added for approved projects from the 3rd Cap. Another fourteen million USD could be allocated under this Fourth Call for Proposals, depending on the number and quality of proposals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications can be submitted until Tuesday
