12 December 2023 \u2013 <\/b>The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) and the Environmental Careers Organization of Canada (ECO Canada) were pleased to deliver on their recently-signed\u00a0 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) toward fostering environmental resilience and sustainable development in the Caribbean. Last month, ECO Canada joined CBF for their first meeting of the Advancing Circular Economy (ACE) Facility Committee as part of this strategic partnership that aims to unite their strengths in a collaborative effort to address critical environmental challenges in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Caribe enfrenta vulnerabilidades ambientales \u00fanicas, agravadas por los impactos desproporcionados del cambio clim\u00e1tico en diferentes grupos demogr\u00e1ficos. Reconociendo la urgente necesidad de acci\u00f3n conjunta, el Memorando de Entendimiento entre la CBF y ECO Canada establece un marco de cooperaci\u00f3n para lograr objetivos comunes en la conservaci\u00f3n, protecci\u00f3n, mejora y apoyo de la naturaleza y los recursos naturales, incluyendo la biodiversidad y la resiliencia clim\u00e1tica en el Caribe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los objetivos principales del memorando de entendimiento incluyen fomentar el di\u00e1logo y la colaboraci\u00f3n regulares, as\u00ed como implementar diversas actividades, proyectos y programas que se alineen con su visi\u00f3n compartida para la regi\u00f3n del Caribe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ECO Canada colaborar\u00e1 con la CBF en diversas iniciativas, entre las que se incluyen el programa de acreditaci\u00f3n de ECO Canada, programas de designaci\u00f3n y reconocimiento de profesionales medioambientales, cursos y formaci\u00f3n en l\u00ednea, microcredenciales, programas conjuntos de desarrollo acad\u00e9mico o profesional en l\u00ednea, as\u00ed como la participaci\u00f3n en varios proyectos estrat\u00e9gicos financiados internacionalmente.<\/span><\/p>\n

Esta alianza representa un paso crucial para el avance de las misiones de ambas organizaciones. ECO Canada, una corporaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro fundada en 1992, se dedica a promover el desarrollo de la fuerza laboral ambiental y a fomentar una econom\u00eda pr\u00f3spera y sostenible. Mediante la certificaci\u00f3n, la acreditaci\u00f3n, la capacitaci\u00f3n y la investigaci\u00f3n, ECO Canada ha desempe\u00f1ado un papel fundamental en la configuraci\u00f3n del sector ambiental en Canad\u00e1.<\/span><\/p>\n

El CBF se cre\u00f3 en 2012 para generar financiaci\u00f3n fiable y a largo plazo para la conservaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo sostenible en la regi\u00f3n del Caribe.
