Los talleres, desarrollados en colaboraci\u00f3n con Ernst and Young (EY), reunieron a emprendedores, representantes del sector privado, organizaciones no gubernamentales y entidades gubernamentales para fortalecer su capacidad de acceder a financiamiento y desarrollar proyectos viables de la econom\u00eda azul.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-16684 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/caribbeanbiodiversityfund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/BEH-SVG-1024x683.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>El Centro de la Econom\u00eda Azul representa una intervenci\u00f3n crucial en un momento en que los pa\u00edses del Caribe buscan equilibrar el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico con la protecci\u00f3n del medio ambiente, la resiliencia clim\u00e1tica y el desarrollo sostenible. A medida que el cambio clim\u00e1tico contin\u00faa impactando los ecosistemas costeros y marinos, existe una necesidad urgente de mecanismos de financiamiento innovadores que apoyen la conservaci\u00f3n y, al mismo tiempo, permitan generar medios de subsistencia. El Centro responde a esta necesidad proporcionando una plataforma regional que conecta proyectos con experiencia t\u00e9cnica, datos e inversores potenciales, facilitando as\u00ed la obtenci\u00f3n de financiamiento para iniciativas marinas sostenibles.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These workshops mark an important step in translating the platform into action,&#8221; said Caribbean BluEFin Project Manager Tanja Lieuw. &#8220;We are encouraged by the level of engagement across the five countries and the strong interest in developing projects that can attract investment while delivering environmental and social benefits.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-16685 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/caribbeanbiodiversityfund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/BEH-SLU-1024x768.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>La plataforma ofrece una ruta digital estructurada que gu\u00eda a los emprendedores para perfeccionar sus conceptos, acceder a asesoramiento experto y fortalecer sus propuestas de inversi\u00f3n. Su principal valor reside en conectar a inversores con oportunidades cuidadosamente evaluadas en la econom\u00eda azul sostenible. Esto facilita la participaci\u00f3n de empresas privadas y el acceso de los proyectos a la financiaci\u00f3n necesaria para su crecimiento.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This collaboration demonstrates the importance of partnerships in building a pipeline of investment-ready projects in the region. Participants gained practical tools and insights to strengthen their project proposals and better align with investor expectations,&#8221; explained Leah Ragbir, Senior Consultant in Sustainability Services at EY-Parthenon.<\/p>\n<p>EY&#8217;s global corporate responsibility program, EY Ripples, aims to positively impact one billion lives by 2030. The program focuses on three main areas, one of which is accelerating environmental sustainability. Their work on the Blue Economy Hub, which focuses on nature-based blue economy growth and strengthening resilient marine and coastal ecosystems, falls directly under this focus area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-16686 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/caribbeanbiodiversityfund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/BEH-GND-1024x768.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Participants across the region also highlighted the value of the workshops. &#8220;I think all of us here are having an opportunity to learn what standards are required so that we can acquire those resources as a country and ensure they result in a good investment,&#8221; said Dominican Republic National Fund for Environment and Natural Resources, Marena Fund Executive Director Judith Valdez. &#8220;Sometimes, we have the resources available but we are not trained to receive them so a scenario like this allows us to understand the requirements of international organisations in general.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-16687 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/caribbeanbiodiversityfund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/BEH-DR-1024x683.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tras la finalizaci\u00f3n de los talleres, la atenci\u00f3n se centrar\u00e1 en apoyar a los participantes para que perfeccionen sus conceptos de proyecto, fortalezcan su preparaci\u00f3n para la inversi\u00f3n y participen activamente en la plataforma Blue Economy Hub. Se espera que esta iniciativa contribuya al desarrollo de una cartera de proyectos viables y listos para obtener financiaci\u00f3n, capaces de atraer inversi\u00f3n p\u00fablica y privada, al tiempo que promueve la conservaci\u00f3n marina, la resiliencia clim\u00e1tica y el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico sostenible en todo el Caribe.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-16688 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/caribbeanbiodiversityfund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/BEH-BAH-1024x683.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>El proyecto Caribbean BluEFin est\u00e1 financiado por el Fondo para el Medio Ambiente Mundial (FMAM), implementado a trav\u00e9s del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente (PNUMA) y ejecutado por el Fondo para la Biodiversidad del Caribe (CBF). El proyecto cuenta con el apoyo financiero del Banco Alem\u00e1n de Desarrollo (KfW) en nombre del Ministerio Federal Alem\u00e1n de Cooperaci\u00f3n Econ\u00f3mica y Desarrollo (BMZ), la Agencia Francesa de Desarrollo (AFD), el Fondo Franc\u00e9s para el Medio Ambiente Mundial (FFEM) y la Agencia Alemana de Cooperaci\u00f3n Internacional (GIZ).<\/p>\n<p>El Fondo de Biodiversidad del Caribe (CBF) es un fondo ambiental regional que implementa soluciones innovadoras y consolida los impactos de la conservaci\u00f3n regional en el Caribe a trav\u00e9s de diversos instrumentos financieros. Mediante el dise\u00f1o y la gesti\u00f3n de soluciones de financiamiento innovadoras, el CBF ayuda a los pa\u00edses a acceder a recursos a largo plazo para proteger la biodiversidad, fortalecer la resiliencia clim\u00e1tica y promover el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico basado en la naturaleza.
