The Ecosystem based Adaptation Facility is the instrument through which the CBF currently delivers on its Climate Change Program. Designed as a sinking fund, the EbA Facility award grants that support actions on climate change adaptation and poverty alleviation through biodiversity conservation and ecosystems management. The grants aim to assist organisations in beneficiary countries in their on-the-ground efforts to maintain and increase resilience and reduce the vulnerability of ecosystems and people in the face of the adverse effects of climate change. The EbA Facility resources are currently composed of a 45 million EURO contribution from the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety through KfW. This financing is being programmed and disbursed during the 2018 \u2013 2025 period. The CBF uses open Call for Proposals for the identification and selection of projects.
\nA trav\u00e9s de la Primera Convocatoria de Propuestas, lanzada en octubre de 2018, se comprometieron US$1,4 billones a 12 billones para 11 proyectos en 10 pa\u00edses. En el bolet\u00edn informativo del CBF de mayo de 2020, compartimos detalles sobre estos 11 proyectos. El proceso de implementaci\u00f3n de estos proyectos se ha visto ralentizado por los efectos de la pandemia de COVID-19. Sin embargo, tras la firma de los respectivos Acuerdos de Subvenci\u00f3n, se avanz\u00f3 significativamente en la preparaci\u00f3n y aprobaci\u00f3n de los Primeros Planes de Trabajo Anuales (PTA) y los Planes de Adquisiciones (PA). Estos documentos son fundamentales para guiar la implementaci\u00f3n y la adquisici\u00f3n de bienes y servicios. Hasta la fecha, se han aprobado 10 PTA y 9 PA, y la implementaci\u00f3n de estos proyectos contin\u00faa.
\nLa segunda convocatoria de propuestas se lanz\u00f3 el 26 de febrero de 2020 en el Taller de AbE del CBF, celebrado en Santo Domingo, Rep\u00fablica Dominicana. Los pa\u00edses elegibles son Antigua y Barbuda, Cuba, Dominica, Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, Granada, Hait\u00ed, Jamaica, Santa Luc\u00eda y San Vicente y las Granadinas. Esta convocatoria, abierta hasta el 31 de mayo, tuvo un gran \u00e9xito, con 79 solicitudes recibidas. Las notas conceptuales presentadas est\u00e1n siendo evaluadas por la Secretar\u00eda del CBF y el Comit\u00e9 del Mecanismo de AbE. Las organizaciones preseleccionadas que presentaron notas conceptuales ser\u00e1n invitadas a presentar sus propuestas completas para su consideraci\u00f3n. Se espera contactar a estas organizaciones preseleccionadas a principios de octubre de 2020. Las propuestas completas presentadas se evaluar\u00e1n para determinar los proyectos que recibir\u00e1n apoyo a trav\u00e9s de la segunda convocatoria.
