Cette am\u00e9lioration \u00e9tait particuli\u00e8rement visible le long de la c\u00f4te ouest de Sainte-Lucie, notamment dans la r\u00e9gion d&#039;Anse Couchon et sur la c\u00f4te de Soufri\u00e8re, ce qui pourrait indiquer que la vie corallienne commence \u00e0 s&#039;adapter \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9l\u00e9vation de la temp\u00e9rature de l&#039;eau. Bien que les facteurs pr\u00e9cis \u00e0 l&#039;origine de cette reprise plus rapide soient encore \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9tude, ces r\u00e9sultats soulignent le r\u00f4le crucial de la poursuite des efforts de r\u00e9habilitation et de conservation des r\u00e9cifs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>r\u00e9sultats de p\u00e9pini\u00e8re et de plantation<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nos p\u00e9pini\u00e8res coralliennes, situ\u00e9es dans la baie d&#039;Anse Chastanet, ont subi un stress important durant les mois les plus chauds. Environ 231\u00a0000 fragments de corail corne de cerf suspendus ont surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9l\u00e9vation de la temp\u00e9rature de l&#039;eau, ce qui t\u00e9moigne de la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 des p\u00e9pini\u00e8res aux fluctuations thermiques rapides. Malgr\u00e9 ces difficult\u00e9s, les donn\u00e9es recueillies ont permis de mieux comprendre l&#039;influence des conditions de p\u00e9pini\u00e8res sur la survie des coraux et orienteront nos futurs ajustements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En revanche, les coraux corne de cerf transplant\u00e9s sur le r\u00e9cif ont fait preuve d&#039;une r\u00e9silience remarquable, notamment sur le r\u00e9cif Turtle. Environ 651\u00a0000\u00a0000\u00a0000 de ces coraux ont surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 la p\u00e9riode d&#039;eaux chaudes, ce qui souligne les avantages adaptatifs potentiels que les coraux acqui\u00e8rent une fois int\u00e9gr\u00e9s \u00e0 leur environnement r\u00e9cifal naturel. Nous avons fix\u00e9 les fragments de corail \u00e0 la parcelle \u00e0 l&#039;aide d&#039;une colle \u00e9poxy bi-composante, m\u00e9thode de choix lorsqu&#039;elle est correctement appliqu\u00e9e. Jusqu&#039;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les r\u00e9sultats sont positifs. Ce r\u00e9sultat confirme l&#039;importance d&#039;une transplantation strat\u00e9gique et sugg\u00e8re que les coraux des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes r\u00e9cifaux naturels pourraient d\u00e9velopper une plus grande r\u00e9sistance aux variations de temp\u00e9rature au fil du temps \u00e0 Sainte-Lucie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>La prolif\u00e9ration des algues pose de nouvelles menaces<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bien que la r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration des coraux soit encourageante, le r\u00e9chauffement des eaux a \u00e9galement provoqu\u00e9 une augmentation inattendue des populations d&#039;algues \u00e0 ramifications en Y. Ces algues se sont rapidement propag\u00e9es sur les sites de plong\u00e9e le long de la c\u00f4te de Soufri\u00e8re, y compris dans nos zones de transfert d\u00e9sign\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La prolif\u00e9ration d&#039;algues \u00e0 ramifications en Y a complexifi\u00e9 nos travaux de restauration. Ces algues entrent en comp\u00e9tition directe avec les jeunes coraux pour l&#039;espace et les ressources, ce qui peut nuire \u00e0 leur croissance et \u00e0 leur sant\u00e9. Pour att\u00e9nuer ce probl\u00e8me, notre \u00e9quipe a mis en place une surveillance continue et un syst\u00e8me d&#039;\u00e9limination manuelle afin de contr\u00f4ler la propagation des algues dans les zones critiques de transplantation. Ces mesures proactives ont \u00e9t\u00e9 essentielles pour pr\u00e9server la sant\u00e9 des coraux nouvellement transplant\u00e9s et assurer leur croissance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Avoir h\u00e2te de<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les r\u00e9sultats contrast\u00e9s observ\u00e9s entre nos coraux en p\u00e9pini\u00e8re et ceux transplant\u00e9s, conjugu\u00e9s aux difficult\u00e9s pos\u00e9es par la prolif\u00e9ration d&#039;algues, soulignent le caract\u00e8re dynamique et \u00e9volutif de la restauration r\u00e9cifale \u00e0 Sainte-Lucie. L&#039;am\u00e9lioration du r\u00e9tablissement des coraux apr\u00e8s les \u00e9pisodes de blanchissement est encourageante, mais la prolif\u00e9ration d&#039;algues \u00e0 ramifications en Y rappelle la fragilit\u00e9 des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes r\u00e9cifaux et la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de strat\u00e9gies de gestion adaptatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At Anse Chastanet, we remain committed to refining our restoration techniques and responding to emerging environmental challenges.
