Apr\u00e8s s&#039;\u00eatre propag\u00e9e aux pays voisins des Cara\u00efbes, la SCTLD a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9tect\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois aux Bahamas en 2019. Il est d\u00e9sormais confirm\u00e9 qu&#039;elle a infect\u00e9 certains coraux constructeurs de r\u00e9cifs au large de Grand Bahama, notamment dans les parcs nationaux de Peterson Cay et de Lucayan. L&#039;\u00e9picentre de la maladie aux Bahamas se situe \u00e0 moins de 65 kilom\u00e8tres, pr\u00e8s de Freeport. La SCTLD ravage le pays depuis plus de deux ans, d\u00e9cimant les coraux de cet archipel de 700 \u00eeles et causant des d\u00e9g\u00e2ts \u00e0 hauteur de 200 millions de coraux morts ou mourants. Selon les derni\u00e8res donn\u00e9es (juin 2022), la SCTLD a infect\u00e9 \u00e0 ce jour au moins 450 kilom\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s de r\u00e9cifs coralliens et a d\u00e9j\u00e0 entra\u00een\u00e9 l&#039;extinction locale d&#039;esp\u00e8ces essentielles \u00e0 la construction des r\u00e9cifs.<\/p>\n<p>Plus r\u00e9cemment, le SCTLD a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couvert dans le nord des Exumas, ce qui a amen\u00e9 les scientifiques \u00e0 s&#039;inqui\u00e9ter du sort du plus ancien parc terrestre et marin du monde et fleuron du syst\u00e8me national d&#039;aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es des Bahamas.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Research, Monitoring and Restoration of Reefs faced with Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) in The Bahamas.
