12 December 2023 \u2013 <\/b>The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) and the Environmental Careers Organization of Canada (ECO Canada) were pleased to deliver on their recently-signed\u00a0 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) toward fostering environmental resilience and sustainable development in the Caribbean. Last month, ECO Canada joined CBF for their first meeting of the Advancing Circular Economy (ACE) Facility Committee as part of this strategic partnership that aims to unite their strengths in a collaborative effort to address critical environmental challenges in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les Cara\u00efbes sont confront\u00e9es \u00e0 des vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9s environnementales uniques, aggrav\u00e9es par les r\u00e9percussions disproportionn\u00e9es des changements climatiques sur diff\u00e9rents groupes d\u00e9mographiques. Conscients de l\u2019urgence d\u2019une action conjointe, le protocole d\u2019entente entre la Fondation Carnegie Mellon (CBF) et ECO Canada d\u00e9finit un cadre de coop\u00e9ration pour atteindre des objectifs communs en mati\u00e8re de conservation, de protection, de mise en valeur et de soutien de la nature et des ressources naturelles, notamment la biodiversit\u00e9 et la r\u00e9silience climatique dans les Cara\u00efbes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les principaux objectifs du protocole d'entente comprennent la promotion d'un dialogue et d'une collaboration r\u00e9guliers ainsi que la mise en \u0153uvre de diverses activit\u00e9s, projets et programmes qui correspondent \u00e0 leur vision commune de la r\u00e9gion des Cara\u00efbes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ECO Canada collaborera avec la CBF sur une s\u00e9rie d'initiatives, notamment le programme d'accr\u00e9ditation d'ECO Canada, les programmes de d\u00e9signation et de reconnaissance des professionnels de l'environnement, les cours et formations en ligne, les microcertifications, les programmes conjoints de perfectionnement professionnel ou universitaire en ligne ainsi que la participation \u00e0 divers projets strat\u00e9giques financ\u00e9s \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle internationale.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ce partenariat repr\u00e9sente une \u00e9tape cruciale pour la r\u00e9alisation des missions des deux organisations. ECO Canada, une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 sans but lucratif fond\u00e9e en 1992, se consacre au d\u00e9veloppement de la main-d'\u0153uvre environnementale et \u00e0 la promotion d'une \u00e9conomie prosp\u00e8re et durable. Par le biais de la certification, de l'accr\u00e9ditation, de la formation et de la recherche, ECO Canada a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le d\u00e9terminant dans le d\u00e9veloppement du secteur environnemental au Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Fonds carib\u00e9en pour la conservation (CBF) a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 2012 afin de garantir un financement fiable et p\u00e9renne pour la conservation et le d\u00e9veloppement durable dans les Cara\u00efbes. Aujourd'hui, en tant que fonds environnemental r\u00e9gional de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence, le CBF s'appuie sur une structure flexible pour mettre en \u0153uvre des solutions innovantes et consolider la mobilisation des ressources dans la r\u00e9gion gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 divers instruments financiers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La collaboration entre la CBF et ECO Canada devrait produire des r\u00e9sultats concrets favorisant la durabilit\u00e9 environnementale, le d\u00e9veloppement de la main-d'\u0153uvre et la r\u00e9silience climatique dans les Cara\u00efbes. Ce partenariat renforce l'engagement des deux organisations \u00e0 relever efficacement les d\u00e9fis environnementaux et \u00e0 contribuer \u00e0 l'effort mondial pour un avenir plus durable et r\u00e9silient.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
