The selected projects will receive grant financing of up to USD 250,000.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Selected Initiatives Across the Region<\/h3>\n\n<ul>\n  <li><strong>The Bahamas (Cape Eleuthera Institute):<\/strong> Supporting queen conch restoration alongside sustainable fisheries and community livelihoods.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Dominican Republic (AVSI Foundation):<\/strong> Combining reef restoration with the sustainable transformation of sargassum into useful products.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Grenada (Grenada Sustainable Development Trust Fund Inc.):<\/strong> Establishing a sustainable marine blackwater collection system to reduce pollution.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Saint Lucia (Laborie Fishers&#8217; &amp; Consumers Co-operative Ltd.):<\/strong> Linking coastal habitat restoration with sea moss aquaculture and livelihood diversification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<blockquote>\n  <p>\u201cThe selection of these initiatives marks an important milestone for the support the CBF provides to viable, blue economy initiatives and demonstrates the strength and diversity of Blue Economy innovation across the region. We look forward to supporting the selected projects as they move from ideas to practical solutions that can generate lasting benefits for Caribbean communities and ecosystems.\u201d<\/p>\n  <cite>\u2014 <strong>Tanja Lieuw<\/strong>, Conservation Finance Manager<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>Together, the initiatives demonstrate the potential of Blue Economy financing to transform environmental challenges into economic opportunities while strengthening the resilience of Caribbean ecosystems and communities.<\/p>\n\n<hr \/>\n\n<h3>About the Caribbean BluEFin Project<\/h3>\n\n<p>The Caribbean BluEFin Project creates and strengthens nature-based blue economy opportunities and approaches in the region through innovative financing mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Caribbean BluEFin Project is financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented through the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and executed by the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF).
