This project supports the coastal community of El Cedro to reduce marine litter and protect vital mangrove, beach, and protected marine ecosystems through a locally driven circular economy approach. By working with municipal authorities, businesses, and residents, the initiative turns waste into value while preventing pollution that increases flood risks and threatens livelihoods. The project combines participatory planning, targeted training, and community engagement to promote the 10R strategies, improve ecosystems, remove or prevent litter, and support sustainable circular economy businesses.

Established in July 2010, Fundación REDDOM is a non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to promote sustainable development through competitive solutions and innovative management of resources and processes. In collaboration with public and private partners, REDDOM implements ecosystem-based adaptation activities in coastal communities, sustainable solid waste management, climate smart agriculture, water security, market-oriented rural development, and sustainable management of environmental resources, among others. Currently, Fundación REDDOM implements Ecosystem-based Adaptation projects in both Samaná and Hato Mayor provinces, Community Empowerment Activity focused on sustainable livelihoods in Northwestern Region, and other initiatives related to rural development within the Dominican Republic.
