This project supports Small Island Developing States, the Dominican Republic and Saint Lucia, to minimize plastic pollution through practical, scalable circular economy solutions through principles of refuse, reduce, reuse, and recycle. It provides targeted technical support and training to retailers, hospitality businesses, producers, and policymakers, while piloting two complementary interventions: a reusable food packaging system in the Dominican Republic and a strengthened waste-to-product recycling hub in Saint Lucia. Linked through shared materials, learning exchanges, and policy dialogue, the project creates feedback loops between innovation, end-of-life solutions, and national planning. Together, these efforts generate evidence, build local capacity, and lay the groundwork for coordinated national actions and a future Caribbean Circular Plastics Roadmap.
