Le 11th Our Ocean Conference (OOC11) will be held in Mombasa, Kenya, from 16-18 June 2026 under the theme Our Ocean, Our Heritage, Our Future. The theme celebrates the living connection between people and the ocean. It reflects the heritage, cultures, and coastal communities shaped by the sea, and it calls for a shared commitment to secure a resilient, just, and thriving ocean for generations to come.
The ocean is our planet’s life support system, home to 80% of all life on Earth, a provider of food and livelihoods for billions, and a stabilizing force for the global climate. Yet it faces escalating threats from warming seas, illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, pollution, and biodiversity loss.
OOC11 will bring together leaders from government, science, civil society, youth, and the private sector to accelerate ocean action and turn collective ambition into meaningful progress, with Kenya leading the way as host of the 2026 conference.
Representatives from the CBF will be participating in the following events.
Co-hosted by the Government of Jamaica, the Government of Grenada, the Dominican Republic and Panama, the CARICOM Secretariat, the OECS Secretariat, the Ocean Coordination Mechanism, the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund, and partners. Caribbean countries will present a coordinated package of new and strengthened commitments, including new endorsements of the Actioning Blue Declaration, new signatures of the Wider Caribbean OCM MoU, announcements of expanded marine protection, national pledges to implement Ocean Accounts by 2030, and commitments to develop Sustainable Ocean Plans. You are all warmly invited to join us.
There will be a commitment delivered by the CBF.
CBF, together with its partners, will host an evening reception at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, Mombasa, convening Caribbean political leaders, development partners, and ocean advocates. Invite only. Please contact [email protected] for more details.
On 9 June 2025, political leaders from across Caribbean Small Island Developing States came together to commit to a shared 30×30 vision for ocean protection. The declaration sets out a region-wide roadmap to strengthen ocean governance, scale conservation finance, and accelerate marine protection through 2030, building on the Caribbean’s track record of regional collaboration on ocean health.
