This bi-national project protected the continuous coastal-marine corridor formed by the Montecristi protected areas in the Dominican Republic and Three Bays National Park in Haiti. It combined mangrove and wetland restoration, coral reef and beach management, protected-area governance, livelihood support, and a Measurement, Reporting and Verification system. A Microfinance for Ecosystem-based Adaptation framework linked financial support to environmentally responsible practices.

  • Strengthen protected-area management, monitoring, and adaptive governance
  • Support resilient fishing, agriculture, tourism, and other community livelihoods
