Increasing the Climate Change Resilience and Public Awareness of the Pointe Sable Environmental Protection Area (PSEPA) and Pigeon Island National Landmark (PINL) Ecosystems

This project strengthened the climate resilience of coastal ecosystems within the Pointe Sable Environmental Protection Area and Pigeon Island National Landmark through improved ecosystem management, habitat restoration, and coastal stabilization. Participatory mangrove, coral reef, and seagrass assessments informed rehabilitation plans, regulatory recommendations, public-awareness activities, and hybrid green-grey infrastructure interventions.

- Assess and rehabilitate mangrove, coral reef, and seagrass ecosystems within PSEPA and PINL
- Improve coastal stabilization and reduce ecosystem degradation
- Strengthen public awareness, stakeholder participation, and community capacity
- Develop rehabilitation plans and evidence-based recommendations for sustainable resource use
