Project overview

This project supports two Small Island Developing States, the Dominican Republic and Saint Lucia, to minimise plastic pollution through practical, scalable circular economy solutions built on the principles of refuse, reduce, reuse, and recycle.

It provides targeted technical support and training to retailers, hospitality businesses, producers, and policymakers, while piloting two complementary interventions: a reusable food packaging system in the Dominican Republic and a strengthened waste to product recycling hub in Saint Lucia. Linked through shared materials, learning exchanges, and policy dialogue, the project creates feedback loops between innovation, end of life solutions, and national planning. Together these efforts generate evidence, build local capacity, and lay the groundwork for coordinated national action and a future Caribbean Circular Plastics Roadmap.
