Key Achievements in Jamaica

The CBF’s collaboration with Jamaica has yielded significant achievements, paving the way for a more sustainable future:

2014: Establishment of the National Conservation Trust Fund of Jamaica (NCTFJ)

This landmark initiative, established with CBF support, created a dedicated funding stream for critical conservation efforts across Jamaica. The NCTFJ ensures long-term financial sustainability for managing protected areas and safeguarding Jamaica's irreplaceable ecosystems.

2019: Signing of the CBF Partnership Agreement

The formalization of our collaboration in 2019 solidified our commitment to working alongside Jamaica. This agreement established a framework for coordinated and impactful conservation efforts, maximizing the impact of our combined resources.

The CBF's dedicated financial resources have empowered local partners in Jamaica and enabled the implementation of critical projects that safeguard Jamaica's unique biodiversity. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting Jamaica's natural treasures.

Jamaica boasts a robust network of protected areas, with a particular emphasis on expanding marine conservation efforts to safeguard the island’s vital coral reefs and other marine ecosystems.
