Influenced by its unique geography and volcanic history, Dominica boasts the most extensive natural forests in the Eastern Caribbean. This island paradise is a haven for a diverse assemblage of wildlife, making it a leader in biodiversity among the smaller Caribbean islands.
We invest in initiatives that ensure the long-term health and sustainability of Dominica's unique natural landscapes, both on land and at sea.
Collaboration is key. The CBF works alongside experienced Dominican organizations to leverage local expertise and empower communities to become stewards of their environment.
The CBF supports the expansion of Dominica's network of protected areas, creating safe havens for its remarkable biodiversity.
The CBF's support played a crucial role in establishing the DNCTF in 2022. This dedicated fund provides a sustainable financing mechanism for conservation initiatives in Dominica.
A formal partnership agreement was signed in 2022, solidifying the CBF and Dominica's commitment to working together on conservation efforts. This agreement signifies a long-term collaboration between the two parties, fostering ongoing dialogue and support for Dominica's conservation goals.
As of February 2025, total CBF funding to Dominica includes: USD 80,000 through the Pre-Finance Agreement USD 106,893 through the CBF–Dominica National Conservation Trust Fund (DNCTF) Partnership Agreement USD 40,000 from the CORE Gender Smart Facility These investments support national efforts in biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and gender-responsive environmental action.
