Scaling up Restoration at Ashton Lagoon using a Ridge to Reef Approach for Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Livelihoods on Union Island

To increase the capacity of Ashton and Union Island on a whole to adapt to climate change using a ridge-to-reef and hybrid Eba approach and provide for diversified livelihoods towards green economic benefits for residents.

To scale-up restoration activities in Ashton Lagoon ecosystem to create a conducive environment for fisheries, coral reef, mangroves and wildlife habitat towards increasing coastal resilience to climate change.

Implement a ridge-to-reef approach through agroforestry (ecological farming) as a model towards a critical solution to climate change.

Support ongoing sustainable eco-friendly livelihoods while promoting long term adaptive management in Ashton.

Implement effective education and awareness program to encourage appreciation of natural resources management and climate change in the community.
