Project Overview
Innovative Nature-based Solutions to Enhance Community Resilience in Grenada (ING)
Grenada
The ING project enhanced climate resilience in communities around Grenville Bay through targeted nature-based and hybrid grey-green interventions. Coastal stabilization combined engineered elements with mangroves, sea grapes, and coral-reef rehabilitation, while community participation, research, and livelihood activities strengthened the long-term social, environmental, and economic benefits of the intervention.
Key Objectives
- Reduce coastal erosion and climate risks using nature-based and hybrid infrastructure
- Restore mangrove, coastal-vegetation, and coral-reef functions
- Strengthen community participation and stewardship in Grenville Bay
- Generate evidence and practical lessons for replicating grey-green infrastructure
Ecosystem Focus
Mangroves, coral reefs, beaches, coastal vegetation, and the Grenville Bay shoreline.
