CoFounding member and researcher of the National Museum of Natural History “Professor Eugenio de Jesús Marcano”. Has been director of the UASD school of biology, national representative of the CITES Scientific Committee, regional representative (Latin America and the Caribbean) of the CITES Animals Committee, vice-chair for the Caribbean of the World Commission on Protected Areas of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Former Environmental Officer of UNDP-DR. Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic. FONDOCYT researcher. Advisor to the Vice Ministry of Science and Technology, MESCYT. Member of the INTEC Research Council. Principal Researcher, National Researchers Career (MESCYT). Novitates Caribaea editorial board member. Member of IUCN Survival Species Commission (SSC/IUCN). Co-founder of Dominican conservationist NGOs Grupo Jaragua and CEBSE. Co-founder of the Caribbean Biodiversity congresses, Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
