Assessment of the Marine and Coastal Environment Post-Volcanic Eruption

To assess the marine and coastal environment on mainland Saint Vincent Post La Soufriere volcanic eruption. Coastal erosions from the pyroclastic density currents and Lahar flows are real threats, and to determine the extent of such changes, he Fisheries Division will conduct post-volcanic assessments of the coast from Barrouallie to Richmond on the west of mainland Saint Vincent and from Bridgetown to Fancy on the eastern coast. The Division will collaborate with Richmond Vale Academy, Serenity Dive Inc and fisheries to conduct nearshore marine assessments to document the effects of the volcanic eruption on the underwater environment.
