Caribbean BLUE Economy Finance (Caribbean BLUEFin) Project

SHARE

The Caribbean BLUE Economy Financing (Caribbean BLUEFin) project is a bold initiative that will address several challenges hindering investments in marine and coastal ecosystems. The Caribbean BLUEFin project aims to cultivate and enhance nature-based Blue Economy opportunities in the Caribbean. We will achieve this through the introduction of innovative financing mechanisms and actively involving stakeholders and spreading awareness of sustainable blue economy practices within the region.

With funding of USD 6 million from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) implemented through the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment), the Caribbean BluEFin project will be executed by the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) over a four-year period, concluding in 2028. The direct beneficiary countries are: The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
