Dr. Peter Edwards supports Pew’s environmental programs with a focus on conservation economics and finance, marine science, and environmental policy. He has expertise in natural resource economic valuation, marine policy, terrestrial and marine ecology, environmental monitoring, and socioeconomic surveys.
Before joining Pew, Dr. Edwards worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on the economics of habitat restoration including blue carbon ecosystems and was also responsible for leading longterm socioeconomic monitoring programs of people living in U.S. regions with coral reef ecosystems. Peter holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology and a master’s in marine sciences from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica, and a PhD. in marine studies from the University of Delaware.
