UNDP’s Turning the Tide on Marine Debris highlights a post-hurricane recovery effort in Jamaica that removed marine waste from mangroves, beaches, and fishing areas to restore coastal ecosystems and support local livelihoods. Through collaboration with government agencies, fishers, and volunteers, the initiative cleared debris, rehabilitated habitats, and strengthened community resilience—underscoring the importance of local action and cross-sector partnerships in tackling marine pollution.
