Revitalization of the Morne Gazo Nature Reserve Project

Summary & Objectives

Morne Gazo Nature Reserve Revitalization Project realized the refurbishment of 1. A nature-friendly rails and trails, 2. Constructing a lookout summit platform and 3. An information centre. There is also a capacity building element which includes training of persons (both males and females) from the community of Morne Gazo, St. David as Tour Guides who will be equipped to share valuable information and insights into the history of the surroundings. The nature-friendly trails are already a popular tourist attraction to visit. Signs have been realized to enhance the educational and immersive experience for all who visit the Morne Gazo Nature Reserve. This project remains a model for terrestrial conservation, eco-tourism, and sustainable livelihoods in Grenada. CBF project results indicator: 25 hectares with improved ecological integrity providing ecosystem services benefits
