Project Overview
Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) to Protect Mangroves in Bondeau
Haiti
The project protected the Bondeau mangroves through a ridge-to-reef approach that linked upstream reforestation, soil and water conservation, climate-smart agriculture, and coastal fisheries management. Farmers participated in a Payment for Ecosystem Services scheme using moringa and other species, while fishers received technical and organizational support. Environmental education and community engagement strengthened long-term stewardship of the Paillant-Bondeau watershed.
Key Objectives

- Develop a climate-smart moringa value chain and additional livelihood opportunities
