The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) is seeking to recruit a
Technical Officer with a strong track record in
project management and implementation to support the
Reef Resilience and Risk Financing Mechanisms (R3FM) in the Caribbean project.
The Technical Officer will work closely with the
Conservation Finance Program Manager and other CBF team
members to coordinate CBF-wide efforts.

Type: Full-time consultant contract
Duration: 1 year (initially), with a 3-month probation period
Extension: Possible for an additional year, subject to funding availability
Location: Flexible within the Caribbean

Consulting firms or consortiums are not eligible

Reporting
The Technical Officer will report directly to the
Conservation Finance Program Manager and the
R3FM Technical Lead (as agreed). The officer will also
liaise and collaborate with other CBF colleagues where necessary.
Minimum qualifications:
A graduate degree (Bachelor of Science) from a recognized university is required.
At least five (5) years of experience in a similar position managing projects of comparable size and geographic scope.
Exemplary verbal and written skills in English.
Knowledge of Spanish (conversational, reading, and writing) at a good or advanced level is considered a strong asset.
Technical Skills:
Project Management: Demonstrated experience in coordinating and leading project teams in the implementation and monitoring of projects of similar size and thematic focus.
This includes preparing and reviewing CBF and donor technical and financial reports, budgeting, and engaging stakeholders across multiple countries.
Thematic Knowledge: Knowledge of biodiversity conservation issues in the Caribbean and national environmental/conservation organizations.
Familiarity with insurance mechanisms for conservation is considered an asset.
Writing and Technical Skills: Proven ability in report preparation and review.
Event Organizing: Demonstrated experience in developing, organizing, and facilitating national and regional workshops and other events.
Expertise with online forums, including organizing and hosting webinars.
Communications and Outreach: Experience in communications and outreach, including preparing materials such as brochures, pamphlets, and information/promotional documents.
