This project strengthened the resilience and management of the proposed Gouyave Marine Protected Area through community-led coral reef restoration, watershed rehabilitation, sustainable fisheries training, and institutional development. Local volunteers were trained in coral gardening and BioRock™ techniques, riparian assessments were completed across three watersheds, and the proposed MPA’s management arrangements and infrastructure were strengthened.

  • Improve watershed and riparian management to reduce pollution and degradation
  • Strengthen sustainable fisheries, livelihoods, and local environmental stewardship
  • Advance management, zoning, infrastructure, and community support for the proposed Gouyave MPA
